Damian Claes Lindberg

20-04-1974   ———  26-07-2026

At 2:06am on Sunday, 26 July 2026, Damian finally got to do what he had spoken of – he boosted into space and his spirit soared beyond the stars into the heavenly realms, where pure love is eternal.

Reunited with his beautiful mum Pauline, his Grandma Joan, and all those who had gone before him.

Here on Earth, he leaves behind the love of his life, his beloved wife and forever best friend, Pele.

The kindest and most loving father to Mikey, Mia, Lukie, Jono, Andrew, and Soia, and a fiercely proud and devoted Grandad to his precious grandchildren, each of whom carried a special place in his heart.

Damian was the heart and rock of our family. A quiet warrior with the heart of a servant, he possessed immense strength wrapped in gentleness, humility and grace. He never sought recognition or applause, nor did he need to stand at the front.

He carried burdens without complaint, gave freely of himself, and always placed the needs of others before his own. His strength made those around him feel safe, his wisdom brought peace, and his love will remain woven into our lives forever.

Though he has boosted beyond our sight, his light has not gone out. It lives on in every lesson he taught, every kindness he showed, every laugh he shared, and in every heart that was blessed to know him.

A celebration of Damian’s extraordinary life will be held on Monday, 3 August 2026, at 11.00am at the Presbyterian Community Centre, Te Awamutu.

As we gather to honour him, we won’t simply say goodbye. We’ll celebrate a life lived with courage, humility, generosity and love – and we’ll look to the stars, knowing Damian has simply boosted ahead of us.

Thank you, Damian, for your friendship, your strength, your kindness, your humility, and your love. Until we meet again… fly high.

Forever loved
