Uncle John – famous to me for two things: your grumpy charm and your mission to make sure I finished whatever was on my plate. As a kid, I was terrified of both. As an adult, I realised the ‘growls’ were really just your way of caring. You showed up for every milestone and every celebration, always there in the background with that same gruff love. I’ll miss you (growls and all).

Gonna miss our lunch dates (I get all the seafood chowder now) and phone calls just to chat about nothing much. Now I’m going to have to have those little chats with strawberrry but she bites.
    Love you lots XXXXX

Rest in paradise uncle John !

Will miss being yelled at for changing the channel and being forced to watch the horses from a newborn to an adult.

Do you have any tips for the races this weekend ? Hahah

    Love everyone’s favourite nephew

My thoughts are with you all and I hope the celebration of grumpy John’s life goes off very well. He will be remembered as person who enjoyed his own company but deep down loved his family and the TAB. May you rest in piece John.
